- How soon will my repairs be done?
- I make an attempt to return your instrument asap. My business reputation has been built on “fast turnaround” of repairs. There are many factors to determine how long it takes…lead time, parts availability, bench load, etc. Rest assured that most repairs are returned quicker than most retail repair facilities.
- Do you stock quality parts for my guitar?
- Yes, I stock only the best quality parts and I keep most electronic parts needed to upgrade your guitar and get you back to the stage, studio or home.
- Can you upgrade pickups and re-wire my guitar with higher quality electronics?
- Absolutely! I am a dealer for pickups from Seymour Duncan, Lindy Fralin, Jerry Jones, Lace, Kent Armstrong, Fender and more. I also build wiring harnesses with high quality cloth wire, capacitors, potentiometers, switches and input jacks.
- May I hang-out and wait for my instrument repair?
- Generally, the answer is no. I work best alone, I work fastest alone and, since this is a home-based business, I don’t allow this for insurance purposes. There are a few minor exceptions to this rule and each repair is evaluated as it is accepted.
- Do you repair amplifiers?
- Yes I do. I mostly repair vintage Fender tube driven amps and I also do minor repairs on some solid state amps. I will always tell you up-front if your amp’s problem sounds like an issue I can take care of.
- Do you sell accessories?
- No, I do not sell accessories. However, I do have a good stock of accessories for your guitar repair or upgrade; capos, strap locks, strap buttons, straps, electronic parts, some pickguards, tubes, polish, etc.
- Do you purchase used guitars, amps or pedals?
- Yes I do, on a very limited basis. (mostly quality vintage gear).
- Do you work on guitars with tremolo bridges?
- Yes. I do work on most guitars with tremolo bridges. I specialize in Fender Strat-style and Bigsby Tailpieces. I also install Bigsby Tailpieces on both hollow bodies and solid bodies. (Please Note: I no longer work on Floyd Rose-style tailpieces).
